A Dark Planetarium by Scott William Carter
This is a really sweet story about what a father will do for his dying son. it is a really short story so I won't leave much of a review because too much will give it away. but trust me that the story will stay with you long after you have read it....I definitely give this a 5 out of 5
Danger in the Shadows by Dee Henderson
This is a book about a woman who is in the witness protection program hiding from a kidnapper who kidnapped her and her sister when they were 8 years old, Their father refused to pay the ransom on time and her 8 year old twin dies after 8 days of the kidnapping. The kidnapper still sends momentous to her over the years finding her time after time. She has a run in with a famous football player who is in the public eye all the time and he is convinced she is the love of his life. The story is a sweet compelling story of two totally different lives coming together. I give this story a 4 out of 5
The Crossroads Cafe by Deborah Smith
this is a book about a beautiful talented movie star who seems to have everything and an unscrupulous photographer that follows her to get her picture, He causes an accident in which her car crashes and burns and to get the story he doesn't help her but takes pictures of her burning!
Then there is a man that still mourns the loss of his wife and son in the september 11 attacks and is slowly drinking himself to death and sleeps in the bed of his truck in the North carolina blue ridge mountains.
Together, However, they show each other how to be stronger than they could ever imagine. It is a real nice romance and I really enjoyed the book. and for a romance it was really good. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Clouded Rainbow by Johnathan Sturak
Clouded Rainbow is an awesome tale about a husband who takes his wife on a date for their anniversary and on their way home they get into a horrific wreck, This book tells about what a husband will go though to get to his wife as they were taken to different hospitals. A lot of interesting twists and turns in this book. It is a must read. I give this book a five out of five. It really could be made into a movie.

Almost Heaven is a really good book about a boy that is raised poor in west virginia. Vanished by Kristi Holl
This was a cute youth book. I downloaded the book onto my kindle thinking it was a novel for older folks but it ended up being a book for youths of about the age of 12-14.
It was a cute who done it kind of book with a girl in 6th grade investigating what happened to her roommate at a boarding school. The van vanishes with 6 girls and the driver and no one knows what happened to it. So the little girl takes it upon herself to send emails out, after the headmistress tells the girls not to do or say anything about it. the little girl also tells her roommates parents their daughter is missing, she calls a news investigator, and all this thinking that she was helping by getting the word out to help find these kids. all the while being yelled at by the headmistress and sometimes the parents themselves. but happily in the end the little girl does find out for herself what happened to the van and it is her plan that rescues them,
For me, it was a bit far fetched. a 6th grader doing the investigating and ultimately finding and rescuing them. but for a 12-14 year old it would be a fun book to read with a girl their age as the hero.
i rate this book a 3 only because I am a 41 year old mom and it wasn't for me
I rate it a 5 for kids 12-14 years old

Dancing in the Lowcountry by James villas
This was a really good book for me, Lots of Lowcountry history. charleston, Pawleys Island, Murrells Inlet, and myrtle beach .
Mainly this was a book about a 73 year old woman with a 40 year old Cherokee Indian companion that take a secret trip to Myrtle beach to stay at a hotel she stayed at all her life. She sneaks away from her kids whom want her to go to the doctor to get an exam because of her old age. So she stays at this hotel that doesn't change over the years called the Priscilla.
She invites her son tyler to be with her because she has some news to tell him about his life. In the meantime she meets an elderly gentlemen that she takes an interest in and ends up confiding in. It ends up that the son, in a relationship with a man, living in new york, and a famous book writer tells her he has colon cancer. after that she decides to not let her past rule her and not to tell her son what she was going to tell him. and concentrate on just taking care of him. She does want to continue seeing this man, that lives in New Jersey with his family, and they decide to keep in touch. And that was the end of the story.
It really made you want to find out more at the end of the book. Did her companion find love again? did she and her male companion fall in love?did her son live through his colon cancer.? So it did leave you wondering at the end.
I give this book a 5

Roseflower Creek by Jackie Lee Miles
this was really a very good book, I read it in two days. It is about a 10 year old little girl telling her story before her death. It starts with her stepfather killing her. Then she goes on to tell her story. She loses a friend, Her aunt loses her baby, another baby goes into an iron lung at 3 years old and almost dies. Her Mother tries hard to be a good mother, but after the 10 year olds father leaves she gets mixed up with an abusive man whole ends up stealing 10 thousand in cash from a mill he worked at. The 10 year old saves her stepfather from a fire and she gets him to believe the cash burned up in the fire, well he finds out she is lying when so goes back to get the cash. He beats this 10 year old to death and kidnaps her mother and goes on the run. He never gets the cash. In the end the mother shoots the husband and is found guilty of murdering her child and she never says anything against the fact. she goes to prison and dies of rat poisoning.
I give the book 4 and a half stars.........it was a very intriguing book

Summer at Willow Lake by Susan Wiggs
Okay, this is my first book review! yay! i have over 400 books I am working on so hopefully this will be an awesome place to come to read reviews on books for anyone looking for a good book to read :)
Summer at willow lake is a book that mostly takes place at a camp called Kioga. Olivia is a smart, sweet, compassionate woman and very no nonsense, she is overweight as a child going to camp, embarrassed by her body and she hides is by being boisterous and happy all the time. Connor is a hard edged, no nonsense, rough around the edges type of kid, and very very good looking. The two meet as young kids at camp and are paired to introduce each other to the other kids at the camp. They instantly like and dislike each other :)
Summers pass and they see each other every summer, girls are jealous because Connor talks to her and they don't understand why he would want to talk or hang out with the fat chick. (said in the book)
the summer when they are 16 he comes up missing and doesn't show for the next two summers until they are 18 and Olivia becomes a camp counselor, then she sees him again, bigger, broader, and more handsome. He says he hasn't been to camp in a couple of years cause his mother and step father put him to work, His father is a drunk and works and lives at the camp and connor is embarrassed that olivia knows this. however, Olivia is still shy and embarrassed by her weight but connor falls in love with her (way to go!)
but embarrassing and strange things happen and they separate ways for about 9 years ( you will have to read the book to find out why)
When they meet again, Olivias grandparents have shut the camp down and it had been shut for a few years and fell into disrepair, The grandparents want to celebrate their 50th anniversary there and do their vows again, so have asked Olivia, now a fluffer (someone that makes property look great so they can sell at a higher price), to fix up the property. so she goes back to camp Kioga, from NY where she lives and works, to start repairs, she needs a construction crew so calls and who shows up?? your right! connor. Now owns a construction company and of course one thing leads to another and many awesome twists and turns come together again. Olivia ends up with a half sister she never knew she had, her old boyfriend, and some other nice surprises.
